Engraving
Process
How is the brick engraved?
Our
unique brick marking process uses a laser beam to melt the surface of
the bricks, which turns it in to a glossy Glass.
Why is the engraving not very deep?
The laser process does not require depth. Depth
can actually be a disadvantage for the following reasons:
- Deep engraving can to contribute to the weakening the brick in
certain areas of various characters. For example, the letters A, B,
P, and R, when deeply engraved, cause a valley around the center of
the letter. Over a period of time or even during installation,
this small
projected piece can chip or breakaway.
- Environmental debris (sand, food, weed and
grass seeds, etc.) fall into the deep engraving. As seasons change,
seeds germinate, water gets trapped and freezes, and this all adds to
the breakdown of the engraving as well as the deterioration of the brick.
What is the engraving filled with?
The laser process applies extremely intensive heat
to the specific area of the lettering, transforming the clay in the
paver to a hardened
glass. Nothing else is put in the engraving.
What are the advantages of the
hardened glass filled method (laser engraving) over the paint, grout or
epoxy filled methods?
Glass is an inorganic, inert substance and is not
subject to deterioration from chemicals, acid rain, or infrared and
ultraviolet rays (sunlight). This means no fading, no additional cost,
and no maintenance.
Paints, grouts and epoxies are organic substances.
Over a period of time, these substances will fade and break down from
exposure to sunlight, acid rain, chemicals and other environmental
factors. This means added cost and inconvenience to refill each brick,
or the unappealing appearance of the brick if left unattended.
How does the laser engraving stand
up to road salt and extreme temperature changes?
Beautifully! Products that can be safely stored in
glass will not harm the engraving, which is hardened glass. The same
holds true for the freeze-thaw cycle we routinely deal with in New
England.
How long will the brick engraving
last?
We guarantee you a lifetime of durability. Our
laser marking will last as long as the durability of the brick's
surface.
How long does the surface of a
brick remain durable?
The conclusion is indefinitely. Our ancestors
produced bricks with the skills of their time, but with today's
technology, computer-controlled, high-temperature kilns produce a far
superior brick. We require the highest quality and durability from
today's brick manufacturers, and we get it.

- Each 8x8 brick can hold up to six (6) lines of
text containing twenty (20) characters per line. Spaces and punctuation

Can a logo, picture or
signature be engraved on a brick?
Yes! We offer an array of standard

access this library by clicking here.
Logos and signatures, as well as custom clip art, can be engraved on a

electronic format, here are most of the compatible formats we can
readily accept: .PDF, .TIFF, .JPG, or .DXF.
Can I use a different font?
The font we use is similar to the Arial font. We
can use any other font as long as it is a True Type Font. If you wish
to use a font other than this, please contact
us.
Can my logo be stretched
across several bricks, for example over 3 bricks by 3 bricks?
This is what we call a Tile
Array. We can enlarge your logo to fit over
several bricks. There is an additional charge, depending on how large
the tile array is. You can see examples of some of our arrays on these
two pages. Brick Marking

How much does it cost to ship
my order?
The standard price for our bricks includes the
shipping cost to your destination for orders that total over 100
engraved bricks. There might be a small up-charge if we are shipping the bricks out of the New England area. This

What brick colors are
available? Are there different styles?
We offer a variety of paver colors as well as

meets your style and color needs.
Can I get a sample?
When you first contact us and discuss your needs,

Can I get blank bricks?
Our team can help you decide how many bricks will
be needed to fill in the area where your bricks will be installed. And
